Attorney Bio
Brice M. Johnston: Mr. Johnston practices in the areas of closely held business transactions, real estate transactions, estate planning and litigation tied to these practice areas. In addition to regularly providing tax and structural planning advice, he represents owners of closely held businesses in partnership and shareholder disputes, business break-ups and employment litigation, including actions for judicial dissolution and shareholder derivative lawsuits. He represents individuals and closely held companies varying in size, industry and complexity. Mr. Johnston has the unique perspective of being able to identify advantageous approaches for transactional clients and clients in adverse situations because of his training from both points of view.
Mr. Johnston received a B.B.A. in Business Management from the University of Georgia in 2000. He then served as the Assistant Safety and Human Resources Director with Jenkins Brick and Tile Company in Montgomery, Alabama. In 2005, he received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served as Senior Editor of the Alabama Law Review. He then worked for over two years with a large Birmingham law firm, where his practice focused on assisting clients with corporate, real estate and litigation matters. He has been with Red Mountain Law since 2007.
Mr. Johnston is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all Alabama courts. He is currently serving on the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Committee for the Future and has obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. He is also pursuing a Master’s degree (LLM) in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
